Senior Product Owner
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Senior Product Manager for an initial 5 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £600/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
Responsibilities:
– Development of the vision and goals for the platforms being managed by the corporate hub.
– Development of a prioritisation framework which meets the platform vision.
– Establishing, defining, and presenting a coherent representation of user priorities and ensuring this is used to drive decision making.
– Developing the platform roadmap and owning the backlog, working closely with colleagues from across the organisation to agree and deliver.
– Developing and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
– Ensure the activities required to implement Oracle periodic updates (monthly for EPM and quarterly for Fusion) are documented and co-ordinated across the hub, digital and business functions.
– Ensuring the effectiveness of the platform support model and leading on aspects of it, including working with others to create a super user network.
– Own the Change/ enhancement Process, proactively ensuring the platforms are continually developed to meet user needs in a controlled environment.
– Oversee the identification and development of backlog tooling – e.g. JIRA
– Using your expertise to support the evolution of the service, embracing agile ways of working.
– Leading the development of options appraisals/ business cases for larger pieces of work.
– Line management of a small team responsible for Product and Change Management.
Essential Skills:
– Experience in facilitating engagement with stakeholders and deliver services or change initiatives with the aim of providing better results for users.
– Experience in capturing and translating user needs into deliverables, defining a minimum viable product.
– Experience in driving forward implementation of solutions to problems for which you have identified, understood and documented their causes.
– Knowledge of agile methodology, with demonstrable experience in taking an iterative approach to delivery within in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
– Experience in leading teams.
– Essential to have worked in a similar role
Desirable Skills:
– Experience as a Product Manager for Finance and/or HR systems.
