Clerk of Works
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in East Renfrewshire, is currently looking to recruit an Energy Assessment & Resident Liaison Officer for an initial 1-month contract on a rate of £19.33 – £21.48 per hour PAYE. The working hours will be 35 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
– To support and monitor effective delivery of gas, energy efficiency and electrical contract management and associated works around project development – from survey through to project completion and defect remediation.
– Conducting site visits, surveys and clerking works completed by contractors, where required.
– Completing relevant paperwork in an office environment.
Essential Skills:
– Experience of working as a clerk of works / maintenance officer, monitoring contractors undertaking gas central heating, electrical and/or energy efficiency installation works within a social housing property environment
– Working in social housing or other area of property management which is customer focussed and where customers can be challenging
– Knowledge of current legislation and regulations which affect gas central heating installations
– Working within a tenant liaison officer type function
– Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal with various stakeholders
– Diplomatic and persuasive skills
– Ability to plan, manage and monitor workloads, balancing conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines
– Able to utilise Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, Excel
– Able to utilise systems to store, record and interrogate relevant and specific data
– Uses own initiative to seek guidance and / or assistance if goals or deadlines threatened.
– Must be able to work to own initiative, and with little supervision
– Works as part of a team and is an effective team member
– Understands the importance of recording all relevant information regarding their workload
Desirable Skills:
– Gas safe registered
– Membership, or ability to be a member, of a relevant professional body
– HNC in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
