Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in various locations across Highlands, is currently looking to recruit Community Works Operative 4 (LGV) x 6 for contracts until January 2025 (with option to extend) on a rate of £12.96 – £14.26/hour PAYE.

 

Responsibilities:

 

– Carry out all aspects of Roads and Winter Maintenance.

– Carry out LGV driving duties including Winter Maintenance snow plough driving and gritting.

– Assist in specialist Roads Maintenance operations like Recycling, Surfacing, Surface Dressing and Drainage works among others.

– Provide cover for burial duties.

– Provide cover for waste services.

– Provide cover for grounds maintenance works.

– The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post, these will include out of normal working hours emergency responses.

– Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time.

 

Essential Skills:

 

– Experience and knowledge of road maintenance work

– Basic level of literacy and numeracy

– Ability to work outdoors in all weathers

– Ability to work as part of a team or on your own

– Ability to understand instructions and experience in the use of mobile technology.

– An awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act

– Experience of operating construction related plant or other construction related skill

– Possession of Driving Licence for LGV, Category C and C + E.

 

Desirable Skills:

 

– Experience of specialist road maintenance such as surfacing, surface dressing or white lining, drainage works and hard paving.

– A desire to learn new skills

– A flexible approach to a variety and quantity of tasks

– The ability to work on your own initiative
