HGV Mechanic
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Kidderminster, is currently looking to recruit an HGV Mechanic for a 2 months contract on a rate of £18.82/hour PAYE.
Responsibilities:
– Duties related to the Operation of the organisation’s vehicle workshop and MOT centre
– Assist with the Allocation of work and administration of the vehicle workshop
– Provide Fleet vehicle and plant maintenance along with MOT & Taxi testing.
Essential Skills:
– Practical Mechanical understanding of the maintenance of HGV commercial vehicles, cars and plant
– To be able to prioritise work as required on a service need basis
– To be able to work in a methodical and efficient manner
– To be able to work under pressure, maintain a high standard of work and attitude
– The operation of computer-based software and IT auditing systems
– To be physically able to perform practical garage work
– LGV inspection and testing standards and principles
– Fault diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
– Commercial garage operations
– MOT legislation
– Minimum of 5 years of practical mechanical maintenance of HGV commercial vehicles
– City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair level 3 or equivalent qualification.
– LGV Class C driving licence
Desirable Skills:
– Up to date MOT testers qualification
– Vehicle inspection accreditation
– Operators CPC qualification
– Assessment and writing Risk assessments
– Light vehicle maintenance and repair
– Commercial Fleet operation and legislation
– The ability to operate a front loader
– The ability to operate a forklift truck
