Project Manager (Renewables & Energy Infrastructure)
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Project Manager (Renewables & Energy Infrastructure) for an initial 12 month contract with option to extend on a rate of around £450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with expectation of up to two days per week on average in any of their offices across Scotland.
Responsibilities:
– Manage and deliver project(s) in the organisation’s Commercial Development directorate – with a focus on renewables and energy infrastructure – however may be required to support other projects in the portfolio as well.
Essential Skills:
– A strong track record (minimum five years) of managing and delivering medium and high-risk projects at pace, with an ability to adapt to inevitable change.
– Expert knowledge of the various project management and project delivery core processes and disciplines, using the right tools/approach at the right time in a proportionate and pragmatic manner.
– Hands-on experience of managing business improvement and transformation projects.
– Experience of managing and delivering projects with a strong commercial element (e.g., development of new commercial models) and capable of interacting with external suppliers.
– Experience of scoping technology solutions.
– Proficient team player in a multidisciplinary, self-managing team environment.
– Proficient in the use of project management tools and business tools (such as Microsoft applications).
– Competent in ensuring data of sufficient quality is appropriately used through analysis and evaluation to inform decisions.
– A recognised Project or Programme Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMQ/PPQ, MSP).
Desirable Skills:
– Experience of working in a land-based and/or renewable energy / energy infrastructure environment.
– Understanding of solutions to enable the coordination of casework, major projects and associated financial income.
– Understanding of service design, customer-centric design and value stream modelling concepts.
– Experience of contributing to, refining and maintaining the different perspectives of a Blueprint or Target Operating Model (TOM).
– Understanding of public sector procurement and acquisition, including contract and supplier management, and working with strategic delivery partners.
– Working knowledge of public sector project assurance regimes (e.g., Gateway Reviews).
