Communications Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Communications and Engagement Specialist for an initial 12 month contract – working part-time, 3.5-4 days per week – on a rate of £18.07/hour PAYE. This role will be hybrid working with one day onsite per week.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and curate engaging content that resonates with our community members, including blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, and forum discussions
– Create multimedia content and outreach campaigns (videos, graphics, podcasts) to enhance community interaction and engagement.
– Organise and deliver knowledge exchange and learning events both online and in-person
– Moderation of community events such as webinars, Q&A sessions, and virtual meetups
– Actively participate in discussions, respond to comments, and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment
– Respond to member requests via email or online platforms in a courteous and timely manner.
– Manage the delivery of a monthly email newsletter.
– Manage and grow the social media presence across X and LinkedIn
– Develop and implement strategies to drive traffic and increase engagement
– Ensure the website(s) are up to date and optimised.
– Monitor engagement metrics and provide regular updates on community health and growth in conjunction with team members
– Use analytics to refine and improve impact.
– In conjunction with the teams, implement the migration of the network to new CRM platform.
– Work with the teams to improve the engagement strategy and provide recommendations for improvements.
Essential Skills:
– Proven experience in online community management, event management or related field
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
– Extensive experience in social media platforms, website CMS systems and CRM systems
– Strong organisational skills
– Creative and strategic thinking.
– Experience with content creation platforms (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
