Classroom Support
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Cumbernauld, is currently looking to recruit a Classroom Support worker, for a contract until June 2025, on a rate of £12.78/hour PAYE. The role will be based in Cumbernauld Campus. The working days will be 2-3 days per week.
Applicants must have a current PVG in place dated within last 12 months or be willing to apply for one.
Responsibilities:
– Provide classroom support for learners to enable access to the curriculum. This would include notetaking, prompting, reading, scribing etc.
– Assessment and Exam arrangement support as required.
– Monitor learner support needs.
– Organise and prioritise technical/classroom support to meet service requirements.
– Provide classroom support for learners to enable access to the curriculum
– Liaise with teaching staff as required to facilitate student learning.
– Enable learners to access a range of assistive technology and resources.
– Support learners in their use of the equipment and assistive software available.
– Monitor learner support needs
– Ensure appropriate resources are available.
– Provide feedback to the Access & Educational Support Team.
– Organise and prioritise technical/classroom support to meet service requirements
– Maintain appropriate records and reporting procedures
– Contribute to the maintenance of statistics to support monitoring, review and evaluation of the service provided by the College.
– Encourage learners to be independent and effective within the College, and the community.
– – ICT skills required for production of paperwork, reports, and e-communication.

Essential Skills:
- Previous experience of working with people with disabilities or other support needs
- Experience of working in an educational environment
- HNC level qualification or educational comparability
- Computer literate – good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Strong communication skills (spoken and written)
- Able to prioritise workload
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of working with a 16+ client group
- Experience of note taking
