Handy Man
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Alness, is currently looking to recruit a Handy Man for a 4 month contract on a rate between £14.47 – £15.91 PAYE.
Main Responsibilities:
– To undertake joinery repairs including replacement of broken windowpanes, replacing door locks, fitting draught excluders, replacing doors, windows, etc.
– To undertake masonry works including resetting paths, steps, handrails, fitting chimney cowls and pots, repairing loose slates, repairs to wet and dry roughcast and installation of clothes poles, etc.
– To undertake minor plumbing repairs including replacement washers, clearing choked drains and gutters, minor central heating repairs, repairs to drains and manholes.
– To assist Housing Maintenance Officers and other technical staff to carry out surveys and inspections.
– To carry out minor repairs including graffiti removal from Council properties and equipment including seats and fencing.
– To undertake minor repairs to fencing and gates.
– To undertake minor painting works including works on properties during tenancy changes.
– To ensure the accurate and timeous recording of work undertaken and control over materials used.
– Participation in rota system for attending emergency call out for Council properties and other properties included in the scheme.
– To be aware at all times of the need to maintain a safe working environment in terms of applicable Health & Safety Regulations.
– To carry out any other duties associated with the post.
