Senior Business Analyst x3
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 3 x Senior Business Analysts for initial 3 month contracts with option to extend on a rate of £406/day (Inside of IR35). These roles will be hybrid working with staff mainly working from home with the option to spend a portion of time in the office.
Responsibilities:
– Work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across the organisation to understand each business area and gather key information, business requirements and business challenges/opportunities (covering people, data, processes and systems).
– Capture the current ‘as is’ state processes and procedures producing accurate end-to-end process maps. Develop potential ‘to be’ states, based on analysis.
– Evaluate business processes for performance and efficiency identifying themes, root causes and areas for improvement. Undertake business process analysis at all stages in the change life cycle particularly business case and strategic options development.
– Identify risk, instability or inefficiency within processes and procedures. Undertake gap analysis highlighting key risks/blockers/bottlenecks/dependencies.
– Interpret business challenges to recommend appropriate solutions or improvements. Work closely with IT, Estates and other subject matter experts to ensure end-to-end business approach taken in developing future state processes. Ensure proposed solutions meet business needs and requirements taking a customer/user-centric approach.
– Conduct meetings, workshops and presentations to share ideas and findings; highlight options, key decision points, associated risks and impact. Effectively communicate insights, analysis and plans to cross-functional team members and service owners. Ensure complex issues and solutions are presented clearly and understandable by all.
– Gather critical information to produce comprehensive analysis, reports and solutions that will feed into business cases, options appraisals and project initiation documents.
– Support feasibility studies, business case production, project initiation preparation, cost modelling development and other project management tools as required by Project Managers.
Essential Skills:
– Proven experience of conducting business analysis on diverse projects and change programmes. This includes identifying themes, root causes, risks/blockers and dependencies using investigative techniques to gather requirements.
– Demonstrable experience of capturing current ‘as-is’ state processes and interpreting business challenges to recommend appropriate solutions or improvements, in collaboration with subject matter experts.
– Strong problem solving and analytical experience across people, data, processes and systems. This includes taking an end-to-end approach in analysing, generating, evaluating and recommending potential solutions to service areas and reviewing progress upon implementation.
– Excellent communication and engagement skills. This includes being able to engage a wide variety of stakeholders at all organisational levels and areas of expertise and communicate complex ideas for all to understand.
