Vehicle Workshop Foreman
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Rugby, is currently looking to recruit a Vehicle Workshop Foreman/Manger for an initial 12 – 20 weeks contract on a rate of £15.70 – £17.59/hour PAYE / £20.41 – £22.87 (Umbrella). This role will be based onsite.
Responsibilities:
– Workshop Management: Day-to-day management of the vehicle workshop and staff, ensuring all work meets appropriate standards and service targets.
– Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee and participate in the repair, maintenance, and servicing of a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with VOSA regulations and preparation for MOTs.
– Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date servicing and maintenance records in accordance with the Operator’s Licence requirements.
– Business Development: Assist in the planning and implementation of a Business Development Plan to offer external services and generate additional income for the Council.
– Stock Management: Manage stocks of consumable materials and purchase replacement parts as needed.
– Public Contact: Liaise with Councillors, the public, and customers, resolving requests and complaints efficiently.
Essential Skills:
– Experience of working with heavy vehicles, plant and commercial vehicles
– Experience of working within a mixed fleet environment
– Knowledge of electrics and hydraulics systems
– LGV Class II Driving Licence
– Knowledge and experience of Electric Vehicles
– A commitment to work within our CAN DO values
Desirable Skills:
– Supervisory Experience
– City & Guilds qualified mechanic or NVQ3 in Vehicle Mechanics
– Experience of working with refuse and sweeping vehicles
– Knowledge of V.O.S.A Servicing & O Licence requirements
