Accountant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit an Accountant for an initial 3 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £218.06/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote working.
Responsibilities:
– To support the Accounting Team. The role will support budget monitoring and reporting for the organisation.
Essential Skills:
– Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or part professional accountancy qualification (e.g. CIPFA, CA, ACCA, ACMA)
– Experience of budget monitoring reports
– Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including advanced skills in excel
– Experience of ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations
– Experience working in an accounting environment
– Experience working with internal and external customers at all levels
– Experience of providing financial advice and support to budget holders
– Accurate numeracy skills demonstrating attention to detail
– Ability to work on own initiative, manage own time, prioritise and meet multiple tight deadlines
– Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Desirable Skills:
– Relevant experience in a similar public sector financial environment
– Good understanding of the work of the organisation, its objectives and context of operation
