Accountant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in East Lothian, is currently looking to recruit x Accountants for initial 6 month contracts on a rate of £25.21/hour PAYE – working Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Onsite and fully remote working available, first day onsite for onboarding.
Responsibilities:
– This role will involve day-to-day financial forecasting, budgeting & year-end management accounts closedown, ensuring that effective financial governance is in place, in line with organisation and wider guidance.
Essential Skills:
– Chartered Accountant/Part-Qualified Accountant
– Local Government Experience
– Knowledge of budget monitoring/development processes & procedures
– Ability to work alongside others and act as a ‘critical friend’ with Service Managers.
Desirable Skills:
– Experience working on finances of Education and/or Infrastructure (Roads, Waste, Transport etc.)
– Comfortable with remote/home-working.
– Self-starter
– Experience of day-to-day supervision of Finance Officer(s)
– Knowledge and understanding of IFRS16 and how to apply and advise on this.
