Admin Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Inverness, is currently looking to recruit an Admin Officer for an initial 3.5 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £15.52/hour PAYE – working 35 hours per week, 9am – 4.30pm. This role will be based in Inverness although they are able to offer some flexibility if working from home is required on occasion.
Successful candidates must have a Disclosure Scotland dated within 12 months or be able to apply for one.
Responsibilities:
– Providing face to face admin support and acting as a point of contact for office-based queries in the Inverness office
– Maintaining email mailboxes to ensure that internal and external enquiries are responded to or redirected as appropriate
– Responding to public enquiries in a prompt and professional manner
– Ensuring the office is kept clear of any H&S risks
– Administrative duties relating to driving at work
– Answering queries via telephone and email
– Processing incoming mail
– Ordering corporate clothing
– Organising travel and accommodation for colleagues
– Along with other administrative duties as required.
Essential Skills:
– Previous experience of working in an administrative role.
– Knowledge and understanding of office-based administration
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Competent user of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel & Outlook
– Experience of handling incoming and outgoing mail
– Experience using Excel to aid data collection
– Experience dealing with internal and external enquiries, especially those from members of the public
Desirable Skills:
– Adaptability and flexibility to take on a variety of tasks sometimes at short notice
– Experience working in a dispersed team
– Up to date first or emergency aid at work certification would be an advantage
