Administrator (Learning and Development)
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Learning and Development Administrator for a contract until 31st March 2026 on a rate of £16.52/hour (PAYE). This role will be hybrid.
Candidates must have a basic disclosure Scotland certificate dated within last 3 months or be willing to apply for one.
Responsibilities:
– Schedule and coordinate internal and external development sessions, workshops, and e-learning activities.
– Liaise with trainers, facilitators, and external providers to arrange courses, venues, materials, and equipment.
– Maintain the development calendar, manage bookings, and prepare attendance lists.
– Ensure new starters complete all mandatory training within agreed timescales.
– Maintain accurate development records within HR and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
– Prepare training materials, joining instructions and feedback forms.
– Raise purchase orders, ensure the processing of invoices and track development-related expenditure as required.
– Support the creation and updating of L&D policies, procedures, and training documentation.
– Monitor and report on compliance and mandatory training completion.
– Support audits by ensuring records are accurate and accessible.
– Produce L&D reports, and performance metrics on development activities.
– Act as the first point of contact for development-related queries.
– Provide signposting on development opportunities and learning pathways.
Essential Skills:
– Strong administrative experience, ideally within an L&D or HR environment.
– Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
– High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
– Strong customer service and communication abilities.
– Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
– Proactive, flexible, and solution focused.
– Able to work independently and collaboratively.
– Professional and discreet when handling sensitive information.
– Keen interest in learning, development, and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills:
– Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
