Admissions Administrator
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment Assistant for a 7 month contract on a rate of £14.30/hour (PAYE).
Responsibilities:
– Administrative support for the processing of approximately 2000 applications forms including checking all paperwork is matched up to each application, contacting applicants to chase missing paperwork and generating mailing lists to communicate with applicants on a variety of issues and reasons.
– Assist in dealing with a large volume of enquiries via email, telephone and online resources, particularly international enquiries, and ensuring enquiries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
– Assisting in the assessment of applications and to accurately record assessment of applications using excel spreadsheets and other in-house systems.
– Assist and support for all potential veterinary entrants
– Responsible for general administrative support within the Admissions and Recruitment Team.
– Carry out project work including researching and collating information.
Essential Skills:
– Educated to at least Higher level, with typically 2 years work experience in a similar role.
– Full range of administrative skills with proven competence in commonly used IT applications, with particular experience and proficiency in extracting and manipulating data in spread sheets and databases.
– Attention to detail and a high standard of numeracy.
– Excellent client-based skills are essential in order to be able to relate to variety of people from many different cultures
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– A calm and diplomatic manner is an essential characteristic
Desirable Skills:
– Knowledge and understanding of the Sector
– Experience maintaining and updating information on the web and using social networking media
