Assistant Services Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Giffnock, is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Services Officer for as soon as possible for an initial 12 week contract on a rate of £16.61/hour PAYE. This role will be based in Giffnock.
Responsibilities:
– To assist in the provision of administrative support to the organisation.
– To develop a thorough knowledge of the organisation’s corporate governance documents including the Scheme of Administration, Scheme of Delegated Functions and Standing Orders
– To provide comprehensive administrative support for the Services and Members Services sections of the Business Operations and Partnerships Department.
– To support the Depute Returning Officer in the provision of a wide range of administrative functions.
– To assist the Services Manager and Services team as required by carrying out research to enable responses to be formulated from enquiries.
– To be responsible for the publication of papers on the website and intranet and also to be responsible for the upload of papers to the cloud and routine maintenance of cloud groups.
– To be responsible for the updating of service-related website and intranet pages as required.
– To assist the Services Manager in the preparation and issue of customer surveys as required.
– To participate in intra and inter-departmental working groups and project teams as required.
– To undertake such duties commensurate with the grade as the Services Manager may determine.
Essential Skills:
– Educated to HNC/SVQIII or equivalent level in Business Administration or similar discipline
– Experience of using Microsoft Office packages
– Experience of Minute Taking
– Effective oral and written communication skills
– Effective time management and organisational abilities.
– Ability to work accurately and with limited supervision and to prioritise workload in accordance with objectives and targets.
– Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
– Able to use initiative to solve problems.
– Able to communicate tactfully at all levels both within and outside the organisation.
– Able to operate constructively within and contribute positively to a team environment.
– Adopts a flexible approach to sharing duties.
– Self-confident and self-motivated
– Pro-active
– Pleasant, outgoing demeanour
– Well organised
– High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
– Requirement to work for extended lengthy periods-irregular hours and weekends during specific periods.

– Higher Grade English
– ECDL

– Driving licence/use of a vehicle
