AV Systems Engineer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2x AV Systems Engineers for initial 2 month contracts on rates of £300/day (inside IR35).
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Service delivery specialist for the Audio Visual Repair service under the direction of the Maintenance Team Supervisor. Proactively identify, prioritise, and manage the resolution of problems to minimize the adverse impact on business operations and enhance overall service quality. Utilise approved AI tools to improve productivity across all areas of work.
– Contribute to the Learning Spaces Technology Asset Management service. Responsible for the physical and digital processing of assets. Maintain the integrity of the asset database by correctly categorising new items and regularly reviewing existing classifications for accuracy.
– Use tools and services to track all attributes of teaching, meeting and study spaces and their associated data. Contribute to business continuity by ensuring that backup and workaround solutions are in place for all types of equipment and technical services.
– Develop, maintain, and disseminate clear and accurate documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and process workflows for the tools and systems used by, or provided by, the Operations Team.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) or significant professional experience
– Audio visual software and hardware experience.
– Experience of programming Audio Visual control systems and configuring Audio Visual hardware.
– Customer service experience in providing audio visual hardware and software support and services, handling enquiries and service requests via telephone, e-mail and in person.
– Organisational, planning and time management skills, ability to cope with change, to multi-task and work unsupervised within an agreed programme of work.
– Knowledge of a wide range of audio visual equipment and IT systems.
– Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
– A working knowledge of IP based networking and basic troubleshooting skills.
– Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
– Customer Service oriented and a desire for continuous improvement and best practice.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to manage and prioritise own time.
– Ability to work under pressure.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– A professional qualification relating to IT and/or audio visual.
– Audio visual and IT service management.
– Experience of Windows and Linux virtual server environments
– Experience of digital signage content management systems.
– Experience of working with databases
– Experience of coding
– Detailed knowledge of audio visual and IT systems deployed in learning and teaching spaces.
– A good understanding of the technology and business requirements.
– Graphic design
– Passion for IT / audio visual technology, and an appetite for change.
– A willingness to learn about new technologies and attend appropriate sector events.
