Business Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with various offices across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst until the 31st of March 2026 on a salary of £47,421 – £55,216/annum.
Responsibilities:
– Update previous models created by Civica in 2021.
– Create additional subject area models.
– Create conceptual data models where best value is added.
– Pull these together into an overarching organisational model.
– Coordination with system and data owners.
– Knowledge transfer and mentoring activities
– Update existing subject area and conceptual data models (originally developed in 2021) to reflect current strategic goals and business processes.
– Create additional subject area and conceptual data models where required.
– Integrate these into an overarching organisational data model.
– Ensure all data models support compliance, traceability, and auditability requirements.
– Work closely with the IMS Steering Group, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment and buy-in.
– Coordinate with system and data owners to ensure models are accurate and aligned with business needs.
– Communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Essential Skills:
– Previous experience in a Business Analyst role
– Previous experience working with data management or architecture.
– Understanding of data modelling techniques.
-Experience supporting digital transformation and cyber security initiatives.
– Ability to facilitate workshops and define scope of change and requirements based on process, people, and technology lenses
– Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to build strong relationships at all levels
– Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
– Solutions-focused with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
– Excellent planning and organisational skills
– Good decision-making skills
– Excellent active listening skills
– Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
– Determination to support the business to meet their needs
– An open and understanding mindset
– Self-motivated with a positive attitude
– High level of personal resilience able to remain effective in changing business circumstances

Desirable Skills:
– Previous experience of any public-sector organisation
– General knowledge of business applications and packages used (technologies could include Dynamics, Teams, O365, Visio, SharePoint applications etc.)
