Business Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client in Dunfermline, is currently looking to recruit a Business Manager for a 6 month contract on a salary between £32,000-£35,000. This role will be requiring the postholder to be in the office at least 2 days per week.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Work with the CEO, Chair and Trustees in support of good corporate and charity governance.
– Manage, coordinate and schedule the regular cycle of Board and Committee meetings including, agendas, papers, minute taking and following up on action points.
– Proactively manage the organisation’s risk register and risk management approaches.
– Be the first point of contact for the organisation’s relationship with its financial agents and undertake in-house financial management tasks that do not fall within scope of the outsourcing contract.
– Support the Incoming CEO with the maintenance and updating of the organisation’s corporate policies and procedures and monitor staff awareness and compliance.
– Support the CEO and other staff in aspects of human resource administration including, as required, seeking specialist HR advice on employment matters.
– Support the monitoring of the Trust’s 5-year Strategic Plan and annual Delivery Plans, including working collaboratively with the team to coordinate production of the organisation’s Annual Report and Annual Review.
– Oversee the organisation’s approach to information management, supporting the Team in keeping files and data secure, up to date and accessible, in line with the organisation’s retention policy and data protection regulations.
– Maintain the organisation’s website and social media channels to ensure information is up to date and accurate, editing and generating content as and when required.
– Oversee the management of our office facilities, supplies and equipment.
– Provide proactive insights on aspects of corporate effectiveness and delivery and work to implement improvements.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– At least three years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the charity, public or voluntary sector.
– Understanding of charity administration including committee structures.
– Experience of working in a small team, managing competing priorities with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
– Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with a range of colleagues and wider stakeholders.
– Ability to develop positive working relationships and work successfully with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
– Proficiency in IT including Microsoft Office Suite including Teams and SharePoint.
– Experience in supporting an organisation’s finances, either on payments or accounting.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Experience in managing projects, driving continuous improvement and managing risk.
– Knowledge of and experience in information management and Data Protection requirements.
– Interest and willingness to work towards a recognised HR qualification.
