Business Support Assistant
Contract length: 6 month contract
Pay rate: £14.87/hour PAYE
Location: Hybrid
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with various locations across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Business Support Assistant for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £14.87/hour PAYE – working 35 hours per week. This role will be hybrid working, with the expectation to be in the office at least 1 day per week.
Responsibilities:
– Develop, maintain, communicate and continuously improve processes and practices to support the central management of services.
– Process requests for travel and accommodation through the Travel services contract, researching options and communicating confirmation of bookings with relevant advice.
– Regularly engage with staff and provide a central customer enquiry point for the unit
– Support the directorate, collate and relay feedback, attend meetings
– Supporting the wider team by providing cover, for example, for Reception or Enquiries
– Contribute to the continuous improvement of working processes and practices of the wider team and organisation.
– Collating and processing data and maintaining databases (e.g. survey and evaluation responses, event attendees and engagement).
– Answering internal and external enquiries via email, telephone and in person.
– Liaising with colleagues and external customers.
– Raising, tracking and receipting Purchase Orders (Oracle)
– Arrange payment of invoices
Essential Skills:
– Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your workload. Along with using your own initiative to balance competing priorities and ensure deadlines are met
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and collaborate effectively
– Experience of working in a fast paced office environment, proficient in the use of Outlook, Word and Excel IT packages
– Using problem solving skills you will regularly analyse information to produce reports and recommendations to improve systems, processes and performance

– Adaptable to changing requirements
– Strong attention to detail
