Business Support Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Support Officer for a contract until 24 April 2025 with possibility of extension on a rate of £17.76/hour (PAYE). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office. This role working days will be 4 days per week (Monday – Thursday) and normal hours for this role will be 9am-5:30pm, however flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
Responsibilities:
– Finalising the guidance for the organisation website.
– Website content management – Maintain our web site area – Publishing items on the organisation website – some items are still in development (referral notices).
– IMSO management.
– FOI Co-ordinating.
– Ensuring timely payment of invoices.
– Arranging meetings, note taking, sending invites, filing in eRDM.
– Mailbox management.
– Call answering.
– Stakeholder engagement meetings/notes.
– Any other admin tasks on adhoc basis.
Essential Skills:
– Providing business support /administration services.
– Organisation and planning of workload and working with minimal supervision.
– Excellent written skills and ability to take fast paced minutes/notes.
– Confident in engagement with Stakeholders both written and in meetings.
– You will provide support to co-ordinate briefs, First Ministers Questions and routinely monitor and support preparation of FOI, and Micase correspondence.
– Log all expenditures and ensure invoices are paid within government timescales- maintain an accurate record of all money received and spent for accounting purposes.
– Ability to operate in a changing and challenging environment to manage competing priorities.
– A flexible and pro-active approach to work including ability to prioritise.
– Excellent understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable Skills:
– Previous experience of Public Sector working.
– Previous experience of eRDM.
– Previous experience of Oracle.
