Business Support Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Support Officer for a 3-month contract with a possible extension. The rate of pay will be £20.22/hour PAYE.
This role is working two days from the office with the remainder of the time working at home as part of hybrid working.
Candidates will need to have a Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate dated within last 3 months or be willing to apply.
Main Duties
-Review and appraise inquiry records to determine suitability for transfer, retention, or disposal, in accordance with the inquiry’s retention schedule and National Records of Scotland (NRS) standards.
-Conduct sensitivity reviews and apply exemptions, redacting sensitive or exempt information prior to disclosure or final transfer.
-Support the presentation of records and evidence during hearings, ensuring materials are accurate and delivered on time.
-Assist the Evidence Manager ensuring records are managed and presented effectively throughout the inquiry process.
-Work collaboratively with legal and operational teams to ensure secure and appropriate access to inquiry records.
– Assist with business management tasks as and when required, including but not limited to, procurement, project management, Oracle support, mailbox management and website management.
Essential Criteria
-Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
-A proven team player who is able to work well with others but also carry out individual tasks as required.
-Good administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and workloads.
-Builds positive working relationships with customers, understands customer needs and expectations and responds in a helpful and professional way.
