Catering Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant for an initial 2 week contract with potential to extend on a rate of £13.54/hour PAYE. This role will be based onsite. The working hours are 35 hours per week 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare counters and foodstuffs according to direction
– Clean and set up restaurant areas
– Stock up and replenish service points as required, and complete relevant documentation
– Clear away used plates, utensils, trays and wipe down tables and working surfaces during and after service periods
– Clean service equipment and kitchen areas including floors during and after service periods
– Cash handling at tills when directed
– Vending Machines – maintain supplies, clean machines and collect cash as directed
– Compile Hygiene Control sheets as directed
– Comply with Catering Service policies and procedures and statutory hygiene regulations
– Undertake other such duties as may be required, as appropriate to the scope and grading of the post
– Undertake general kitchen duties as required
Essential Skills:
– Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance
– Elementary Food hygiene certificate, or prepared to gain within 3 months of commencing post
– Knowledge of Food Hygiene best practice
– Food preparation skills
– Ability to communicate satisfactorily verbally to customers
– Minimum of one year working in a catering environment or similar including front of house experience
– Experience of providing good customer service
– Customer focus
