Catering Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Catering Assistant from 6th January 2025 until end of February 2025 on a rate of £13.54/PAYE. The working hours are 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
– Prepare counters and foodstuffs according to direction.
– Clean and set up restaurant areas.
– Stock up and replenish service points as required, and complete relevant documentation.
– Liaise with staff, students and members of the public as required.
– Clear away used plates, utensils, trays and wipe down tables and working surfaces during and after service periods.
– Clean service equipment and kitchen areas including floors during and after service periods.
– Cash handling at tills when directed.
– Vending Machines – maintain supplies, clean machines and collect cash as directed.
– Compile Hygiene Control sheets as directed.
– Comply with Catering Service policies and procedures and statutory hygiene regulations.
– Undertake other such duties as may be required, as appropriate to the scope and grading of the post.
– Undertake general kitchen duties as required.
Essential Skills:
– Elementary Food hygiene certificate, or prepared to gain within 3 months of commencing post.
– Knowledge of Food Hygiene best practice
– Food preparation skills.
– Minimum of one year working in a catering environment or similar including front of house experience.
– Experience of providing good customer service.
– Ability to communicate satisfactorily verbally to customers.
