Catering Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a General Catering Assistant for an initial 8 week contract on a rate of £13.14/hour PAYE – working Monday–Thursday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm. This role will be based in Glasgow.
Responsibilities:
– Cleaning and maintaining practical areas to a safe hygienic standard within all areas relevant to the department.
– Ensuring practical areas (including kitchens, bakeries, restaurants, bar, linen room, lecture theatre and ancillary areas (demonstration areas) are prepared for classes and other activities as required.
– Collecting, checking, delivering and returning food stores, prepared food and specialist equipment and completion of the relevant documentation (as required).
– Food storage, labeling and temperature monitoring, in accordance with food safe systems of work.
– Assisting in stock recording and stock control procedures and completion of all relevant documentation.
– Providing assistance in all designated areas, such as the setting out of furniture and equipment for related displays as required.
– To undertake any other duties consistent with the key responsibilities and duties of the post as directed.
Essential Skills:
– Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate
– Manual handling
– Interpersonal and communication skills
– Teamwork ability
– Client focused
– Awareness of Health & Safety issues
Desirable Skills:
– Standard Grades or equivalent
– COSHH Training
– Health and Safety Training
– Stores Experience
