Cleaner
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Cleaner for a 4 weeks contract on a rate of £13.16/hour (PAYE). The shift will be Monday to Friday – 05.30am – 13.00.
This role requires the succesful candidate to have a disclosure Scotland dated within a year or be prepared to apply for one.
Responsibilities:
– Carry out cleaning duties that are in keeping with the standards expected of organisation. These duties include activities that involve manual handling, bending, stretching, laundry, the use of chemicals, basic maintenance of equipment and working from ladders.
– To help at meetings and events including setting up and clearing refreshments/ catering.
– To keep others safe by adhering to health and safety procedures and carrying out risk assessments as you work.
– To check and report signs of pest infestation or damage to the fabric or furnishings of the buildings.
Essential Skills:
– No formal qualifications are needed; however, the role requires:
– either a British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICsc) Licence to Practice or willingness to obtain a BICsc Licence to Practice.
– English sufficient to understand verbal and written instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Safety Data Sheets / Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) information and other related information.
– Basic computer / technology skills such as e-mail and filling in on-line forms
– To be able to work as part of a team where you respect and support your colleagues
– To have a professional approach toward tasks
– To be flexible and adaptable to changing situations
– To have a common-sense approach with the ability to use your initiative when faced with unexpected situations
– To be open to learn and continually improve your knowledge as it relates to the role
– To have a customer-orientated focus
– A minimum of 6 months working in a cleaning or similar/related role
