Clerical Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Livingston, is currently looking to recruit a Clerical Assistant for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £12.59/hour PAYE. The working hours are 36 hours per week – 8am-4pm. This role will be based onsite.
Responsibilities:
– Prioritising tasks to meet competing demands
– Manage incoming and outgoing mail, logging and responding where appropriate.
– Input and maintain accurate records to a range of systems including databases, spreadsheets, payment systems, office diaries etc.
– Undertake printing, photocopying and scanning duties as required, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s information security policies and procedures.
– Maintain an effective filing system in line with document handling procedures and to enable accurate retrieval of any required files and associated archive and destruction
Essential Skills:
– Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with service users via the telephone, colleagues and managers at all levels.
– Good organisational skills
– Ability to work flexibly to meet competing and unforeseen demands and to tight deadlines
– Confident in the use of IT systems
Desirable Skills:
– Educated to NC Level 6/Higher /Skills for Work Level 6, Modern Apprentice SVQ
