Clerical Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Livingston, is currently looking to recruit a Clerical Assistant for an initial 2 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £12.59/hour PAYE. The working hours are 36hrs per week – 8.30am-5pm. This role will be based onsite.
Responsibilities:
– Take telephone calls
– Use of IT systems
– Prioritising tasks to meet competing demands
– Input and maintain accurate records to a range of systems including databases, spreadsheets, payment systems, office diaries etc.
– Undertake Printing, photocopying and scanning duties as required, ensuring compliance with the organisation’s information security policies and procedures
– Maintain and effective filing system in line with document handling procedures and to enable accurate retrieval of any required files and associated archive and destruction

– Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with service users via the telephone, colleagues and managers at all levels.
– Good organisational skills
– Ability to work flexibly to meet competing and unforeseen demands and to tight deadlines
– Confident in the use of IT systems
– Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
– Accuracy and attention to detail
– Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters
– Flexible and adaptable
Desirable Skills:
– Educated to NC Level 6/Higher /Skills for Work Level 6, Modern Apprentice SVQ
