Cloud ETL Engineer – Outside IR35
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Cloud ETL Engineer for an initial 6-month contract on a rate of £450-£500/day (Outside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
Responsibilities:
– Design and develop the ETL workflows to process the overnight data exchange.
– Apply data transformation rules as per the requirements provided by the Data Analyst and Business Analyst.
– Implement data cleaning logic and enforce data retention rules.
– Optimize ETL jobs for efficiency and error handling.
– Collaborate with the Cloud Data Engineer to ensure ETL jobs integrate smoothly with the cloud-based data pipelines.
– Monitor and troubleshoot ETL workflows to ensure reliability and performance.
Essential Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
– 3+ years of experience in ETL workflow development and optimization.
– Proficiency in AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and S3.
– Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
– Experience with data cleaning and transformation processes.
– Knowledge of Oracle database structures and cloud data pipelines.
Desirable Skills:
– AWS Certified Data Analytics or Solutions Architect certification.
– Familiarity with large-scale data warehouses in a cloud environment.
– Experience in integrating ETL workflows with data engineering pipelines.
