CO Support Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Support Assistant for contracts until 31st July 2026 on rates of £14.34/hour (PAYE).
Responsibilities
– Assist with routine building checks.
– Report any faults or issues to the team.
– Gather additional information or documentation as required for fault reporting, such as photographs, and assist with access when necessary.
– Conduct furniture inventory and condition checks in storage areas.
– Perform building walkarounds to ensure maintenance standards are upheld.
– Act as reception contact point as part of Reception team rota for approx. 2 half days per week (or other buildings if required)
– Handle light manual tasks, such as moving small pieces of furniture.
– Support the team by responding to general inquiries from staff and students.
– Provide assistance during move days, working with contractors under team supervision.
– Perform routine, straightforward compliance and fire safety checks as directed.
– Support the Operations manager and Project Officer with routine (tasks related to the major capital project ongoing during these months i.e. check of rooms, keys, locks, furniture, making sure people’s personal items are in the correct locations following a move etc and helping to report any snagging items.
– Using a range of media, e.g., email, web/intranet, to assist in the team in circulating information effectively from Operations to staff and students
– Assist the Operations Team with general administrative tasks in relation to the support of management of all buildings.
Essential Skills:
– Competent communication skills.
– Experience in a customer facing role
– Ability to manage own time on a day to day and week to week basis.
– Ability to take direction and work under minimal supervision when required.
– Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel as well as database systems.
– Accuracy and ability to prioritise tasks within a routine.
– Flexibility and positive attitude to work
Desirable Skills:
– Experience of working in an estates or facilities role in similar environment
– Good spatial awareness i.e., the ideal candidate would be able to navigate, organise, and optimise physical spaces, while also being able to identify and address any spatial issues and visually assess spaces for any faults or maintenance concerns.
– Previous experience of using SharePoint and database systems
