Commercial Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Newport, South Wales, is currently looking to recruit a Commercial Officer for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £250/day Inside IR35. The post is mainly a remote role, with office attendance required once a month.
Responsibilities:
– Helps support the development and implementation of procurement strategies, undertaking soft market testing, identifying opportunities to develop effective supplier relationships, understanding costs, risks/ rewards, manage the category procurement pipeline and develops options for business cases, including articulating associated benefits and producing supporting arguments for the preferred option.
– Provide advice to stakeholders on compliant routes to market.
– Support refinement of requirements and evaluation criteria and develop ITT documentation for the procurements.
– Support all stages of the procurement process in line with public contracts regulations.
– Manage release of the requirements through the e-procurement system, including uploading documentation and responding to supplier clarification questions.
– Ensure across the team all commercial activity is captured where appropriate within the e-procurement system.
– Provide guidance and expertise on commercial matters.
– Promote the delivery of excellent customer service.
– Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
– Build effective and supportive relationships within the team and share improvements and ideas/solutions to enhance team performance.
– Manage the procurement pipeline for the respective category.
– Provide Support to Category Manager and other members of the Commercial team.
Essential Skills:
– Ability to run a tender process from initiation right through to award (and advise throughout)
– Ability to support in and advise in the management of contracts
– 2+ years of procurement experience essential
– Good level of knowledge of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
– Familiarisation with using Crown Commercial Service solutions
