Communications Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Communications Officer until the 31st of March 2026 with option to extend on a rate of £225-£275/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with a minimum of one day per week in the Glasgow office.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Develop, manage and implement communications plans for the organisation’s programmes of work ensuring alignment with communications for all other priorities of the organisation.
– Develop and implement communications activity to support the transition to a refocused organisation during the current period of reform.
– Ensure that all assigned projects are managed effectively and efficiently using communications planning templates, delivered on time, to budget and which meet quality standards. 
– Monitor and respond the media enquiries, working with colleagues from across the business and ensuring due process in applied.
– Undertake to measure the success of all campaigns, providing regular reports as required.
– Write copy for a range of channels including marketing materials, online marketing, media, social media, websites, etc.
– Develop and manage the production of promotional materials.
– Work with colleagues in the Communications Team to ensure effective communication to all staff regarding all organisational programmes, products and services.
– Be proactive in ensuring the key messages of the programme are communicated clearly to all internal and external stakeholders. 
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Experience of copy-writing for print and digital, alongside excellent writing and editing skills including the ability to produce clear, concise copy.
– Experience of working with the media and media monitoring.
– Proven ability to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders and experience of working with senior stakeholders.
– Experience of developing and implementing communication plans / strategies. With the ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise and work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
– The ability to be creative in delivering information in an effective and engaging way.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills with experience of working successfully with internal and external stakeholders.
