Community Work Order Supervisors
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in West Lothian, is currently looking to recruit 4 x Community Work Order Supervisors for 3 month contracts with potential to extend on a rate of £15.23/hour PAYE. These roles will be based onsite. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
 
– To supervise service users in the performance of specific tasks as required by the conditions of a Court Order.
– To organise projects that benefit both individuals and organisations in the community and that encourages service users to realise the value of what they are doing by paying back to their community.
– To deal with aspects of service users behaviour as required.
– To assist in fulfilling the organisation’s statutory obligations, outcomes, Standards, Departmental Policies, Practice and Procedures.
– To support the concept of Community Payback.

Essential Skills:
 
– Possession of driving licence.
– Experience of working with people.
– Good Time Management skills.
– Assertiveness skills.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Supervisory or Group work experience.
– HNC/SVQ III
– Previous experience of direct service user/s contact in a Health, Social Care, or Justice setting.
– Ability to engage effectively with people on a one-to-one and on a group basis, using a range of group work skills.
– Ability to identify service user’ skills and assess their performance in carrying out tasks.
– The ability to motivate and support service user to achieve a goal.
– Organisational skills and the ability to make decisions in the course of the job.
– The ability to identify and allocate tasks within the abilities of service user.
– Ability to develop working relationships with people and to offer practical advice and support.
– Ability to deal constructively with conflict and respond appropriately.
– Awareness of the importance of promoting equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.
– The ability to engage appropriately with all people at all levels.
– Ability to work with people in a way that is consistent with the values underpinning best practice in Social Work.
– The ability to maintain professional identity and approach within work-based relationships.
– Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
– Knowledge and understanding of drug/alcohol addiction and mental health issues.
– Knowledge and understanding of race and ethnicity issues.
– Being customer focused.
