Content Officer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Stirling, is currently looking to recruit a Content Officer for a contract until 6th August 2026 on a rate of £17.65/hour (PAYE).
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Provide leadership as a line manager and content expert. Line management of a grade 2 role within the Content Team.
– Deliver and publish multimedia content that champions knowledge, skills, and materials as being key to sustaining Assets.
– Editing, design and publishing of outputs from projects, research, learning and guidance. This will include the design of accessible PDF documents.
– Responsibility for content quality and ensuring that content developed is consistent with brand guidelines, editorial guidelines and accessibility standards. 
– Activity lead in the production and commissioning of printed signage and interpretation for the projects.  
– Management of Content Team exhibitions and equipment kept in storage.
– Deliver sector audience engagement with editorial content. This will involve a range of content development across the blog, website, newsletter and social media channels.
– Operational management and strategic planning of the newsletter.
– Develop user needs statements, user stories, and work with personas to develop and deliver new content across the website and blog.
– Support the technical development and management of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
– Support VLE content development, plus identify and implement processes, documentation and guidelines that will lead to effective online course design. 
– Support Technical Conservation (TC) to deliver a broad range of projects across the TC work programme.
– Support management of budgets associated with projects.
– Develop and use your understanding, and associated sectors to coordinate wider external communications to support key projects or subject areas.
– Manage relationships with internal colleagues and external contractors such as designers, researchers, printers, illustrators, and filmmakers.  
– Required to travel intermittently, to accommodate activities such as filming on location, meeting contractors at a site to specify interpretation work, or visiting a site to inform project work.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Professional experience in delivering content for newsletters, blogs, websites or social media.
– Experience of following brand, editorial or accessibility guidelines to create accessible PDF publications.
– Experience in managing the creative production process for films and/or interpretation.
– Ability to use elements of the Adobe Suite to create and edit outputs, such as publications using InDesign and visual assets in Photoshop.
– Excellent planning skills, ability to respond to concurrent priorities and demonstrable experience of managing projects to a deadline.
– Experience in working collaboratively in project teams with a wide range of stakeholders.
– Ability to use Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office packages.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Demonstrable CPD and/or accredited qualifications in accessibility, copyediting or content design.
– Ability to use a VLE software, such as Moodle, to manage learning content.
– Experience of working in a large organisation or public body.
– Experience of liaising between stakeholders and suppliers, managing expectations around feedback and deliverables.
– Awareness of user experience (UX) design principles, and ability to inform content decisions for online platforms.
