Corporate Support Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Corporate Support Manager for an initial 6 month contract, with the option to extend, on a rate of £225-£250/day (Inside IR35). This role supports hybrid working, however regular attendance will be required at the office in Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
– Working closely with the lead Corporate Support Manager to manage and monitor the Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests, including liaising with staff to ensure that the relevant information required is returned in a timely manner when required.
– Overseeing the redaction process for personal, environmental, and commercially sensitive information, ensuring full compliance with GDPR, FOI, and EIR legislation. Responsible for the strategic application of exemptions and public interest tests, providing guidance to teams on best practices and regulatory adherence.
– Drafting and coordinating responses to FOIs/EIRs, ensuring legislative requirements and timescales are met when required.
– Issuing and recording acknowledgment letters for requests
– Providing oversight and strategic guidance on staff contributions to casework, ensuring timely follow-ups and accountability.
– Establishing best practices for monitoring workflows, fostering collaboration, and driving operational efficiency in case management.
– Monitoring the Freedom of Information request (FOI) and Corporate mailboxes.
Essential Skills:
– Excellent knowledge and experience of responding to Freedom of Information and Environment information (Scotland) Regulations requests
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organise and collate information from a variety of sources to support decision making
– Proactive and able to identify gaps and come up with solutions
– Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and find efficient ways of managing work
– Experience of using case management systems or planning tools
– Experience of redacting from documents ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards
– Experience of managing/mentoring staff
Desirable Skills:
– Previous experience of working within a public sector corporate/policy team setting
– Previous experience of responding to ministerial correspondence and complaints
– Familiar with GDPR and data protection principles
– Knowledge and experience of coordinating responses to complex complaints and implementation of Complaints Handling Procedures, including knowledge of the SPSO legislative requirements and expectations for public sector in relation to complaints
