DBA/Data Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Tweedbank, is currently looking to recruit a Database Admin / Data Analyst for an initial 10 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £450-£500/day (Inside IR35). This role may require on site working initially, with potential for remote with occasional working from offices in Tweedbank.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Make the current project data repository accessible to the project team and add required queries / screens that will allow the team to interrogate / view the data.
– Provide Excel outputs in preparation for sharing with NHS partner organisations.
– Extend the data structure to support import, separation, and comparison of data returned from partner organisations (e.g. categorising as matching / non-matching and indicating differences).
– Create reports (financial liability / variance, member and contract stats, and data validation outcomes).
– Advise on limitations and risk for the project data repository (currently Access DB) and manage the move to an alternative data tool where deemed necessary.
– Work closely with the Project Manager and Business Analyst on data requirements and specifications required.
– Engage positively and professionally with the project team, internal and external subject matter experts and stakeholder groups.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Expertise in Access DB
– Experience in database management (maintenance, manipulation, access and querying) using SQL.
– Expertise in data modelling, reporting, analysis, presentation and visualisation.
– Engage positively and professionally with the project team, internal and external subject matter experts and stakeholder groups.
– Experience in, and ability to, apply a range of tools and techniques to collate and analyse data.
– Experience conceiving, designing and building dashboards using tools such as Excel and enterprise BI solutions such as Caseware Idea, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
– Experience of working with stakeholders to define and implement reporting requirements.
– Experience working on large projects
– Must be a self-starter, able to work under own initiative and direction.
– Must be able to work independently on MS Access
– Ability to organise, prioritise and schedule work within an agreed set of priorities or work programme.
– Ability to lead on data initiatives, develop a plan and influence and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders to implement the plan
– Excellent stakeholder management skills.
– Must be able to support moving to Apex Oracle after Excel.
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Data analysis qualification
– 5 plus years acting as a data analyst
