Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Inverness, is currently looking to recruit 2 x Electrician for permanent contract on rates of £16.01/hour PAYE.
Responsibilities:
– To be an active member of the Trades Team delivering quality electrical services across a range of repairs and refurbishment works to the organisation’s property portfolio in the Inverness area.
– Participation in an out of hour’s emergency service on a rota basis is a requirement of the post. Stand-by payment (currently £331.38 per week on call) and enhanced hourly rates apply (call outs and overtime paid at time and a half).
– To be responsible for any vehicle in your charge which is used in the course of your work, performing daily vehicle checks and ensuring that all documents relating to that vehicle are correctly maintained. To report any damage sustained to the vehicle to the Building Maintenance Team Leader.
– To undertake training to keep up to date with changes in technology and regulations to ensure optimal service delivery.
– Liaise with Team Leaders and schedulers to plan and schedule repair and refurbishment works alongside other Trades Team members, prioritising in order to achieve best value for money.
– Work with Maintenance Officers and colleagues to understand needs of the organisation’s property portfolio.
– Listen and liaise with tenants and managers to provide a responsive and efficient service.
– Ensure implementation and compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures throughout all works undertaken.
– Effectively use repairs by appointment scheduling system to maximise team efficiency.
Essential Skills:
– A commitment to team working, values and ethos; and to provide excellent customer care.
– A full and valid UK driving license is essential to travel efficiently between various work locations in the area to meet the operational needs of the service.
– Experience in all aspects of electrical work, and electrician qualification or evidence of having completed or undertaking electrician training (eg. 4th year apprentice).
– Courteous in dealing with customers, general public and other staff.
– Able to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
– Able to accurately record materials and timings.
– Basic ICT knowledge, including being able to use a mobile device to accept and complete jobs, send and receive emails etc.
– Ability to work to tight deadlines.
– Effective planning and risk assessment methods.
– Ability to interpret and follow instruction, identifying where service delivery can be improved working as part of a multi-skilled team.
– Willingness to listen to customer needs and liaise with team members to meet needs in accordance with budget controls and in a time efficient manner.
– Strong commitment to Health & Safety procedures.
– Able to work for periods without direct supervision.
– A positive, ‘can do’ attitude and determination to get the job done and overcome obstacles within defined processes.
– Able to demonstrate flexibility.
