Engineering Lecturer
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical/Manufacture Engineering Lecturer for a monthly rolling contract on a rate of £21.98 – £26.37/hour PAYE. This full-time role will be 35 hours per week and will consist of 23 hours of class contact.
Responsibilities:
– Provide high quality learning and assessment opportunities that enhance learning.
– Prepare and deliver high quality teaching and assessment materials.
– Contribute to the requisitioning of materials and equipment.
– Ensure up-to-date recording of student attendance and academic progress.
– Ensure accurate recording of moderation//verification activities.
– Contribute to development in teaching subject areas.
– Lead and contribute to internal moderation/ verification groups.
– Participate in the evaluation of learning and teaching activities.
– Contribute effectively to programme boards.
– Participate in learning observations.
– Contribute to departmental self-evaluation and operational planning.
– Contribute to Risk Assessment for designated activities.
– Advise line manager on H&S issues, as appropriate.
– Ensure that all activities comply with agreed risk assessments and best health and safety practice.
– Ensure learners comply with health and safety standards within the appropriate subject area.

Essential Skills:
– Recent relevant teaching experience i.e. course development and delivery
– Degree or relevant professional experience in Mechanical/Manufacture Engineering
– Significant industrial experience within the specialist area or willingness to undertake industrial placement within agreed timespan
– Experience of developing innovative teaching practice
Desirable Skills:
– Teaching qualification
– A and V units or prepared to work towards them
– Postgraduate qualification in relevant specialist area
– Driving license
