Event Sales Co-ordinator
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Event Sales Co-ordinator for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £12.99/hour PAYE – working 37 hours per week. This role will be mainly based on site with some opportunity for hybrid work depending on the schedule.
Responsibilities:
– Viewing appointments for all areas of the garden available for hire with clients
– Responding to clients in a professional and timely manner
– Quoting for events and contracting
– Diary management and maximisation of spaces & hire / up-sell revenues
– Accurate recording of financial figures and enquiries into the various logs and trackers
– Working to achieve budgets and venue sales targets
– Communicating with the wider garden team with operational details
– Maintain booking relationships with existing clients and developing with new clients
– Working closely with on-site catering team (for design & ops) to ensure information is transferred correctly and in a timely manner
– Keeping website up to date with details and imagery
– Attend weekly garden wide operations meeting and also weekly catering meeting
– Assist with the creation of garden self-created events
Essential Skills:
– Ability to be able to work in a faced paced sales environment within a unique setting and already established sales team
– Demonstrate a pro-active and positive approach to planning and undertaking a range of sales activities
– Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure including problem solving
– Desire and hunger to drive new business for the organisation
– Ability to sell products across the portfolio including events and weddings
– Support the growth of commercial partnerships
– Be able to communicate with potential clients in an appropriate manner – Face to Face/Email/Phone as determined by the client needs
– Previous experience of a similar role
– Have operational experience in previous roles – ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
– Understanding of the Edinburgh Corporate and Wedding markets
– Knowledge of working with a customer relationship management system
– Knowledge of working Outlook, Word and Excel to a competent level
– Experience of working to tight deadlines
– Ability to work as part of a team, and independently
– Good time management and ability to prioritise
– Awareness of the hospitality, tourism and event industry trends and patterns
Desirable Skills:
– Experience and knowledge of social media would be advantageous, although not essential
– Educated to degree level or equivalent
