Facilities Assistant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Facilities Project Assistant for an initial 1 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £12.60/hour PAYE – working 8.30am – 4.30pm. This role will be based in Edinburgh.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Distribute stationery and other supplies, furniture and equipment.
– Participate in the recycling of materials, collection and disposal of recyclable materials.
– Collation of Spreadsheets for recycling and arranging uplift.
– Accompany contractors in secure areas.
– Moving IT equipment and connecting and checking cables and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations)
– Prepare rooms for meetings and seminars, to predefined plans when required.
– Basic maintenance tasks, e.g. putting up frames for notices, ensuring facilities information notices are current
– Erecting and dismantling furniture and other equipment
– Any other appropriate duties as directed by Line Manager
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Experience of front line public and customer service in a busy and demanding environment.
– Manual handling skills
– Ability to communicate effectively and with tact and diplomacy a wide range of people.
– Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures
– Self- motivated and a team player
– A flexible attitude, not afraid to multi-task, take on new activities or help other team members
– Comprehensive working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office Programmes – Excel and Word
 
Desirable Skills:
 
– Building security and safety procedures.
– Awareness of Health and safety and its application to the work environment.
– Working experience of Office set ups i.e. connecting and checking cables and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations)
