Finance Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Analyst until the end of November 2025 on a rate of £250/day (Inside IR35). This role will be based in Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
– Inputting information (financial models, budgets, management accounts) onto PortF. Keeping track of outstanding information on PortF and flagging / chasing Portfolio Management Lead for outstanding data on a monthly basis.
– Helping / supporting with ongoing PortF improvement project.
– Helping to track companies against relevant financial forecasts. Flagging when companies are off track and helping Portfolio Management Lead in performing deep dives to ascertain why companies are off track.
– Helping with ongoing exit analysis for companies in the portfolio (including exit valuation analysis).
– General admin support to ensure Salesforce and SharePoint are all up to date as well as helping to update KYC checks.
Essential Skills:
– Experience in financial analysis or portfolio management, including familiarity with financial modelling, budgeting, and interpreting management accounts.
– Proficiency with data entry and management systems, particularly financial platforms like PortF (or similar portfolio management tools), Salesforce, and SharePoint would be beneficial.
– Attention to detail and organisational skills, enabling effective tracking of outstanding data, documentation, and follow-ups with internal stakeholders.
– Understanding of key financial indicators and forecasting, with the ability to support performance monitoring and highlight variances or risks in company performance.
– Exposure to investment or corporate finance processes, particularly experience supporting exit analysis or valuation assessments.
– Project support experience, ideally within a financial or systems improvement context, showing ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
– Working knowledge of compliance requirements, including supporting Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and maintaining up-to-date records.
