Finance Business Partner
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner for a 6 month contract on a salary of £43,735.63 – £50,712.16/annum (pro rata). This role will be hybrid based with 2 days a week in the Glasgow Office.
Responsibilities:
– Supporting services with budget planning and the preparation of budgets.
– Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts.
– Monitoring of performance against budget, investigating and reporting on variances.
– Supporting services in the preparation of robust forecasts against budgets.
– Provision of financial information and advice to managers to inform decision making and business planning.
– Building business cases and costing models.
– Work with budget holders at all levels across the organisation.
– Assist with preparation of final accounts and financial reports.
– Use of Power BI/Excel for data analytics/reporting.
– Completion of statutory and other returns to both internal and external partners.
– Work in conjunction with the Financial Controller and Senior Finance Business Partner to provide sound financial management information and advice to senior managers, ensuring corporate objectives are followed and financial regulations and controls are adhered to. This will include identifying, recommending and developing improvements in financial information and processes to managers.
– Deputise for Senior Finance Business Partner as required.
Essential Skills:
– CCAB/CIMA Qualified – **Applications from Near Qualified accountants awaiting exam results will be accepted. Any offer of employment is conditional on exam passes and obtaining Qualified status**.
– Preparation of high quality financial information and analysis of financial data.
– Working knowledge of financial ledger systems.
– Competent in developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets.
– Established negotiating skills to influence and provide challenge to budget holders.
– Ability to interpret legislative requirements and apply technical issues.
– Ability to work flexibly to meet tight deadlines and deal with conflicting priorities.
– Self-motivated with a willingness to contribute fully to the objectives of the team.
– Proficient in use of Microsoft packages.
Desirable Skills:
– Evidence of continuous professional development.
– Familiarity with SAP financial software.
– Experience within Public Sector.
– Knowledge of work environment specific Accounting Regulations.
