Finance Manager

As a £100M turnover company ready for significant growth, we plan to double our size in the next five years, and we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to help support our expansion.
 
The Finance Manager will oversee our Finance team, ensuring streamlined operations, and maintaining collaborative relationships within the teams and across the business. Hybrid working in our central Edinburgh office, the Finance Manager will work closely with our teams, providing robust financial guidance, maintaining detailed financial analysis, and ensuring that cash flow forecasts are in sync with credit control and debtor performance.
 
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will be essential to ensure our Financial Systems and reporting can support the continued growth of the Company.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Supervise the Finance team, ensuring tasks are performed correctly and timeously, cultivating strong internal relationships and ensuring cohesive operations.
– Provide integral financial guidance and support to the business operations.
– Prepare monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules, and insuring these are prepared in a timely manner.
– Prepare weekly margin reports for business units, with supporting commentary for Senior Management and Account Managers.
– Work with key business users and system providers and identify system enhancement opportunities that could be implemented to strengthen the financial control and reporting functionality.
– Support decision making at a senior level through financial modelling, financial analysis and report writing for both finance and non-finance audiences.
– Oversee the Credit Control function to ensure that payments are received in accordance with payment terms, and variances and queries are actioned in a timely manner.
– Align cash flow forecasts with debtor performance, offering detailed projections based on payment histories and forecast sales and receipts.
– Uphold compliance with invoice financing facilities and the supplier payment process.
– Act as the deputy to the Group Financial Controller as required.
– Act as point of contact for external stakeholders, e.g. Auditors, HMRC and Bank
 
Essential Skills:
 
– QBE, Qualified Accountant preferred however Part Qualified candidates who are still to sit their final exams will also be considered.
– Proven experience in a dynamic finance environment.
– Exceptional communication skills, adept at simplifying complex financial data for diverse audiences.
– Track record of delivering timely, accurate and robust financial information.
– Independent initiative combined with effective teamwork capabilities.
– Expertise in accounting software such as Sage or Xero and strong Excel skills.
 
Salary and Benefits:
 
-Competitive Salary – £45,000 to £60,000 per annum
