Finance & Procurement Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Aberdeen, is currently looking to recruit a Finance and Procurement Manager for an up to 6 month contract on a rate of £380-£430/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
Responsibilities:
– Providing key financial forecasts and support for the organisation through in-year financial monitoring and reporting, engaging with areas and colleagues across Finance to build and maintain effective working relationships and provide robust and timely in-year and year end reporting to the CEO and senior management to support business decisions. Ensure requirements are met in relation to charging for delivery of official controls. Leading the continuous improvement of business area management reporting, ensuring they are of high quality that uses compelling and persuasive language to influence and challenge, and to assist budget-holders to make informed decisions.
– Oversee the delivery of work by the Central Government Procurement Shared Services for the organisation under the Memorandum of Understanding. Ensure that shared services bought in are fit for purpose and delivering the services required for the organisation.
– Lead and build the operational capability of the finance team, leading by example to develop and coach them to ensure effective and efficient working with delegation as appropriate, with the aim of developing a high performing team to ensure delivery of efficient, prompt and professional service to individuals and managers. Management of branch budget in accordance with the organisation’s Financial Management Scheme of Delegation.
– Provide advice, input and support on corporate matters to senior executive team members and others internally as well as the Board and Audit and Risk Committee, and senior officials as required. Represent the organisation and its interests, at meetings, Boards, forums and provide authoritative advice and make decisions as required.
– Oversee and lead on the content of the organisation’s Annual Report and Accounts to ensure compliance with Government Financial Reporting requirements and that of the Scottish Public Finance Manual. Work with our Communications team to ensure the document is accessible and engaging.
Essential Skills:
– Qualified to Degree level (or equivalent) in Accountancy or Finance
– ACCA Qualification
