Finance Project Support Manager
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Project Support Manager for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £400-450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working between home and the Glasgow office.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Business analysis – applying a range of business analysis techniques to guide payment related service design in collaboration with Programme and ability to investigate problems, lead options appraisals and propose solutions.
  • Business Process Modelling – guiding the development of the as-is and to-be process flows in collaboration with Programme considering user needs and key financial control requirements.
  • Requirements Definition & Management – Supporting the development of user stories to define finance payment, accounting and Management Information/Data requirements for benefit delivery projects, other change/transition projects or system releases that impact payments, using Agile methodology. Prioritise requirements and coordinate delivery with Programme and Live Service delivery teams.
  • Continuous improvement – being able to critically evaluate current payment related systems and processes, and identify opportunities to optimise these and mobilise initiatives to deliver improvements.
  • Business process testing – defining test strategy and creating test cases and traceability records, from test cases back to requirements and oversight of Integration testing/Release testing and Model Office test outcomes.
  • Stakeholder relationship management – being able to develop and manage effective working relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve communicating with stakeholders clearly and regularly, clarifying mutual needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of impacts while focusing on the end-user needs.
  • Incident Management – Manage payment issues, from a finance business perspective, collaborate with the organisation’s senior technical support teams and Operational colleagues to impact and coordinate remedial business actions and ensure root cause of repeat issues is addressed.
  • Subject Matter Expertise – Developing technical knowledge of SPM client case management system (where payments are initiated), Management Information/Data reports and interfaces to ERP (where payments processed) to be able to support Operational Finance teams with payment and reporting issues and impact any proposed changes to payment related processes.
  • Guidance & Training – being able to impact what changes are needed to guidance and training materials for any changes delivered, support the development and quality assurance over guidance and training materials.
  • Transition – Support the transition of projects to ‘business as usual’ Finance teams after agreed hyper care project support period, including managed handover of any relevant support documentation, lessons learned and open defects.
  • Innovation – lead, coach and motivate others to innovate in their work.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong experience of business analysis in a business or digital project environment, preferably in a Finance or payment process.       
  • Excellent relationship management skills working with key stakeholders in technical and business environments.
  • Experience of process mapping and business requirements gathering.
  • Experience of working within an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, and ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team.
  • Strong Internal Controls mind set.
  • Well organised, delivery focussed and able to work on own initiative in a dynamic and/or Agile environment.
  • Project management qualification preferred – Agile/PMP/Prince 2 or equivalent.
  • Business Analysis certification (CBAP or equivalent) – preferred or relevant experience.
