Finance Transition Lead
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Scottish Government, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Transition Lead for a 6-month contract on a rate of £29.59/hour PAYE or £298.89/day via umbrella. This role will be a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities:
– Lead the Finance Thematic Project as part of the Education Reform Programme, managing the work of the project team, including reporting back through the PMO structure.
– Provide an evidence-based assessment of costs and implications of the development of the new public bodies, including value for money, efficiency options, and alignment of spending options.
– Leading and prioritising the delivery of excellent partnership working, valued by key delivery partners and wider stakeholders; offering appropriate challenge and support as required.
– Support effective finance and fiscal sustainability planning for the three new public bodies, ensuring a consistent approach is being taken.
– Support the development of individual Business Cases for each new body.
– Support the Deputy Director and wider finance lead in providing up to date and accurate assessments of the financial implications of the programme in the Programme Business Case in on future budget and public spending issues.
– Act as a role model and champion fiscal sustainability in all interactions with stakeholders.
Essential Skills:
– Ability to provide expert analysis of a business’s financial situation and make projections based on this.
– Experience of successfully navigating and providing sound advice in relation to complex finance issues.
– Ability to operate autonomously.
– Able to quickly gain the trust of senior stakeholders due to the credibility of finance advice provided.
