Financial Accountant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Scotland, is currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant for an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend, on a rate of £275-£325/day (Inside IR35). This is a hybrid role, with some attendance required on site in Tweedbank.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver the Annual Report and Accounts and coordinate external audit activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and financial regulations, including the Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM), specific regulations and accounting standards.
Essential Skills:
- CCAB or equivalent Qualified Accountant with good technical skills, experience of operating at a senior level and of systems development and implementation, preferably with experience and understanding of principles of pensions accounting.
- Strong financial management experience with the ability to generate, identify and interrogate financial data to support decision-making and ensure appropriate accountability and use of public funds.
- Active BPSS security clearance would be highly advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to explain financial information clearly and concisely, influencing key stakeholders and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Demonstrate enhanced analytical skills using a variety of tools to develop informed options, make evidence-based recommendations and support informed decisions.
