Venesky-Brown’s client an engineering company in Kirkcaldy, is currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller on a permanent basis on a salary of c.£30,000-£35,000/annum. Offering many benefits such as a 10% Employer Contributory Pension, 30 days annual leave and private healthcare membership. The working hours are full time Monday to Friday. This role will be based onsite in Kirkcaldy.
 
Responsibilities:
 
– Responsible for copying and distributing incoming mail.
– Monitoring emails and forwarding onto Directors if relevant.
– Prepare weekly timesheets for payroll and update labour costs for completed payroll.
– Maintain monthly staff overtime records and notify payroll for monthly salary run.
– Notify Financial Director of liabilities due for weekly and monthly payrolls.
– Maintain and process monthly valuations and sales invoices, issue VAT sales invoices.
– Update monthly labour costs, send details to Financial Director at H.O.
– Verify new Subcontractors with HMRC, prepare schedule of sub-contractors’ payments and confirm tax deductions for PAYE before submitting on-line to HMRC.
– Create and maintain job contract records.
– Checking and maintaining bank account statements with cash book, responsible for petty cash, pay cash and cheques into bank account.
– Assist in completing PQQS and Quality Assessments.
– Process subcontractor valuations and payments.
– Process purchase invoices.
– Provide general administration assistance as required by the organisation.
– Any other duties required by the organisation.
 
Essential Skills:
 
– Extensive experience in a similar role.
– Strong analytical capabilities coupled and high attention to detail.
– Ability to work on own initiative, effectively prioritise and manage workload, meeting tight deadlines.
– Excellent oral and written communication skills.
– Good organisational and strong administrative skills.
– Essential experience and knowledge of using Advanced MS Office.
– Experienced in the use of Sage 200.
