Financial Reporting Accountant
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Swindon, is currently looking to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant for an initial 3-4 month contract on a rate of £30/hour PAYE. This role is flexible working, 1 day in the Swindon office but can be fully remote.
Responsibilities:
– Establish the set up and management of the financial accounts for the allocated project.
– Prepare all disclosures for the financial accounts
– Ensure that the entity is prepared for year-end group reporting
– Lead and drive forward the specific project to completion
– Assist in ad hoc tasks relating to the financial accounts team and the project
– Lead the review and enhancement of our IR35 compliance processes, ensuring robust assessment and documentation of off-payroll workers.
– Design and implement a streamlined system for evaluating contractor status, aligned with current legislation and business needs.

Essential Skills:
– Fully qualified accountant
– Experience of preparing statutory accounts within the public sector
– Ability to prepare accounts from scratch
– Finance project management experience
– Excellent verbal and written communication
– Work independently to manage deadlines, solve problems, and deliver high-quality outputs with minimal supervision
– Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data
– Applies logical and critical thinking to develop effective solutions to issues
– Significant reconciliation experience, including identification and rectification of errors
– Keen eye for detail
– Displays strong emotional intelligence
– Creates and maintains strong customer relationships
– High-level Microsoft Office user
– Experience of using a finance system
