Governance Analyst
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Governance Analyst for an initial 12 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £250 (Inside IR35). This role will be based in Edinburgh – however, attendance at the project site will only be required on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities:
– Provide timely, accurate advice and sound professional judgement on CDi purchase orders and invoicing issues, ensuring effective resolution.
– Raise purchase orders using the Oracle Fusion Cloud system for CDi and other departments, covering software, hardware, and resource requirements.
– Process invoices assigned by Finance, ensuring correct managerial approval and adherence to financial policies, challenging any non-compliance.
– Act as the first point of contact for equipment and software requests within the CDi department, ensuring quotes comply with regulations.
– Manage the central IT Governance mailbox, ensuring all correspondence is handled promptly and appropriately.
– Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures, ensuring departmental compliance and addressing any deviations.
– Maintain accurate records of CDi assets across the estate, including purchase details, warranty information, and disposal data.
– Keep the central contract database up to date, monitoring renewal dates and notifying relevant managers in advance.
– Provide general administrative support to the CDi team.
– Respond to IT-related Freedom of Information (FOI) requests as required.
– Attend the office to support the Stock Controller, particularly during staff absences.
– Collaborate with operational colleagues to identify and implement service improvements aligned with organisational needs.
– Build and maintain strong relationships with CDi suppliers, attending supplier meetings as necessary.
– Actively contribute to team meetings by sharing ideas, knowledge, and feedback on ongoing activities and developments.
Essential Skills
– Proven abilities enabling you to manage your time and prioritise a varied workload whilst being aware of how your work impacts on others.
– Evidence of communicating effectively, both written and oral, with colleagues at all levels and stakeholders to build positive relationships.
– Competent user of MS Office packages – Outlook, including calendars, Word and Excel.
– Eye for detail and understanding of need for precise and accurate work with an ability to interpret information and data
– Understands importance and responsibilities when dealing with sensitive information and demonstrates discretion.
– Experience of managing multiple email inboxes, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of emails. Co-ordinating responses as required, ensuring queries are dealt with and deadlines met.
